Smith & Thell ~ Keep The Beat In Your Heart: I am crushing hard on Smith & Thell. Smith because she has exquisite, grrr girl tastes and Thell because he promises he looks good in swim shorts and who am I to doubt the veracity of his Swedish genes?! Both together because they are one of the most exciting pop projects to launch this year and musically because not only is Kiss and Tell (playing on Larry Flick this Thursday fact fans) entirely magnificent, but also because their latest tune to grace the internet is a love letter to music and a dreamy one at that. Keep The Beat In Your Heart lyrically details how music is always the constant in our lives and how it can help us through the toughest of moments and is therefore an everlasting love. it's set over a percolating beat with some neat synth effects as well as a simple but compulsive chorus with some lovely vocodered backing vocals giving a pleasing layered effect. It's a win from start to finish and surely big things are on the way for this delightful duo?!
